Read the cancellation terms

Before committing, check whether a deposit is refundable and when cancellation fees begin. Read how changes are handled. A booking that looks flexible may have conditions. Save the terms that apply on the day you agree.

Check the full cost

Add fees, transport, food, and the return trip to the headline cost. Check when each payment is due. Keep rent and groceries outside the trip budget. If the total does not fit, change the plan before the payment becomes difficult to undo.

Keep a record

Save receipts, confirmation details, and written answers to your questions. Check who you must contact if the plan changes. Do not rely only on a verbal promise. Make sure you understand the dates before paying a deposit.

Pause when the terms are unclear

Ask for an explanation before committing. Pressure to decide quickly is a reason to slow down. If borrowing is involved, read the repayment terms separately from the trip terms. A promise of approval does not replace clear information.
